IMT student stabs sex worker to death in Enugu.

he police in Enugu State have arrested a man who allegedly stabbed a commercial sex worker to death on Sunday, following a disagreement he had with the woman.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) SP Ebere Amaraizu, in a statement he issued on Monday, said that the incident happened at about 3:30 a.m. at Onuato Street, Enugu.

Amaraizu said that the victim accompanied the suspect to his apartment where they had a disagreement which resulted in a scuffle that led to her death.
He said that the suspect, who picked up the sex worker at Rangers Avenue on Oct. 22, had agreed with her that he would pay her N4,000 after passing the night with him.
The PPRO quoted the suspect as disclosing that he had drunk to his fill and that on arrival, because it was already getting late, he demanded that they had sex immediately.
“His request did not influence anything as the deceased allegedly requested to finish what she was inhaling in order to be in the mood for the business of the day.
“The accused maintained that after several hours of pressuring her and without any answer, he slept off and woke up before 3 a.m.,” Amarizu stated.
The police spokesman said that the accused immediately ordered the sex worker to leave the apartment since the aim of bringing her appeared to have been defeated.
“The accused said that the deceased resisted the order and allegedly warned him to beware as she would not succumb to any person’s threat whatsoever.
“She later headed for a kitchen knife that was seen in the kitchen spot of the suspect’s room after allegedly biting him.
“The accused further revealed that a fight suddenly broke out between them and as the deceased tried to stab him to death with the kitchen knife, he overpowered her,” he said.
Amarizu quoted the suspect as saying that the kitchen knife went straight to the stomach of the deceased and he finally stabbed her on the neck region and she died.

The police spokesman said that the accused later wrapped her body  was recovered from the apartment and deposited at the mortuary of the Eastern Nigeria Medical Centre, Enugu, as investigations into the incident had commenced. (Pmnews) (Photo crdts: Coal City Connect)

Dad who claimed daughter vanished following punishment for not finishing her milk changes story

The father of a 3-year-old Texas girl who went missing Oct. 7 told police he was trying to get his daughter to drink milk when she died, according to new details revealed in an arrest warrant.

These new details were part of an arrest warrant issued by the Richardson Police Department, who interviewed Wesley Mathews Monday regarding the disappearance of his adopted daughter Sherin.

WLBTV reports that the warrant, which was posted online by the Richardson Police Department, says that Mathews told police he was trying to get Sherin to drink milk around 3 a.m. Oct. 7 in their garage.

Mathews tried to force Sherin, who suffered from developmental issues, to drink the milk when she wouldn't comply, the warrant stated.

"She was coughing and her breathing slowed," the warrant read. "Eventually, Wesley Mathews no longer felt a pulse on the child and believed she had died."

Mathews told police he removed Sherin's body from the home afterward, according to the warrant.

Mathews called police roughly five hours later to report her missing. Mathews told police he had told Sherin to stand outside alone as punishment for not drinking her milk and that a coyote may have gotten her, Richardson Police spokesman Sgt. Kevin Perlich told Chron.com at the time.

Before calling, Mathews said that he did laundry while he waited for his daughter to return.

Senate to debate on Governors’ request for Paris Club Refunds

Nigeria Senate has announced its readiness to debate governor’s request for another tranche of Paris Club refund from the federal government.

Raising through order 43 of Senate rules, Senator representing Imo East Senatorial district, Samuel Anyanwu expressed concern over governor’s continued request for the funds.

He wondered that Paris Club refunds to governors were never budgetted for, citing that President Buhari might be offering those funds illegally.

Anyanwu also pointed that President Buhari scolded those governors that were owing state workers salaries for months despite Paris Club Refunds in the past.

“Mr President, Distinguished colleagues, I rise through order 43 of Senate Rules to express worries over Paris Club Refunds to state governors”, he submitted.

“Sir, remember that Paris Club Refunds were never budgetted in the 2017 appropriation. You will note that Mr. President scolded State governors for not paying salaries of workers with the funds”, he added.

Reacting, Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki directed that the subject be brought in form of a motion at a further date to enable the lawmakers debate on it.

Paris Club Refunds had been released by Buhari-led administration for three times now for payment of State workers salaries with governors canvassing for more.

Unfortunately, states like Kogi, Ekiti and others have been locked in industrial crisis for non payment of salaries despite federal government’s intervention.

Match against Nigeria one of my favourite games for Argentina - Messi

Argentina captain, Lionel Messi, has picked a match against Nigeria, as one of his favourites for his country.

Messi revealed this shortly after netting a hat-trick against Ecuador, which qualified Argentina for the 2018 World Cup.

He has played against Nigeria twice at age-grade level – the 2005 World Youth Championship and also the 2008 Olympic in Beijing – winning both times.

At senior level, he has scored in three times in the three games he has played against Nigeria – a brace at the last World Cup in Brazil and a goal in a friendly game played in Malaysia in 2012.

“He was speaking after his hat-trick for Argentina against Ecuador, he was asked his best games for his country and he picked his debut at the World Cup against Serbia which Argentina won 6-0, and also the final game of the Olympic in Beijing which they won 1-0 against Nigeria, then the game against Ecuador,” Sky Sports’ Guillem Balague said.

She's never been shy to make a statement with her appearance. And Blac Chyna was at it again on Friday as she flashed some waist-length blood red tresses on her way to a pedicure.

The 29-year-old former stripper definitely turned some heads with the fiery do, although it was in fact probably a wig.

In terms of her outfit, the reality star opted for a black sweatshirt with red stripes down the arms, and 'in-to-you' emblazoned on the front.

She teamed the garment with a matching black skirt that just skimmed her thighs.

The now ex of Rob Kardashian looked quite happy, and smiled both during and after her appointment.

Hoe Evans Tried To Escape From Prison Last Weekend

Police have revealed how Kidnapping suspect Chukwudubem Onwuamadike, alias Evans, plan to escape from the prison where he is kept this weekend, was foiled.

According to The Nation Evans who had allegedly tried to escape from his cell in Abuja after he was transferred from Lagos revealed that a source came forward and told of how the kidnap suspect again tried to escape  by promising the prison guard $50,000 and $100,000 if he would help him escape.

"Nigeria Safe In President Buhari’s Hands"

A don, Malam Bashir Yankuzu, says Nigeria is safe in the hands of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Yankuzu, who is of the Department of Science Education, Federal University of Technology, Minna stated this in an interview with  Newsmen in Minna on Monday.

He was reacting to the President’s address to the country on Sunday to mark Nigeria’s 57th independence anniversary.

“Our prayer is that Allah grants him divine guidance, good health and a good team to properly steer the affairs of the country.”

According to him, although the country is passing through challenges due to accumulated failure in governance, the President’s s ability to clearly identify three key problem –  security, economy and corruption – signifies a good omen for the country.

He stated that the economy diversification policy of the government is already clearly yielding fruitful results, as seen in the agriculture sector.

“Objective reflection on the level of insecurity and looting that nearly brought this country to a standstill before the coming of Buhari and the effort his government is putting in place is commendable.

“No wonder despite the current hardship and distracting activities of some corrupt elements, the masses are still with President Buhari.

“Now, with the commendable appointment of Justice Ayo Salami, chairman of the anti-graft committee, it is my hope that the fight against corruption at all levels will reach all the nooks and corners of the society with clear results to the benefit of the country.

“Nigerians of good minds must redouble their commitments and support the President in his effort at fixing the challenges facing the country especially in exposing corrupt public officers.

“We hope that come 2020 we will celebrate with President Buhari not only the target 10,000 mw of power but also a secured and self-reliant country especially in areas of food security and job creation.’’

He advised the Federal Government to do more to improve the education sector at all levels.

He also called on the media to come up with programmes that would help educate the public and sensitise it to the effective ways of holding leaders at all levels accountable.

He added that such programmes should also suggest ways by which to expose corrupt public officers through the using the Federal Government’s whistle blowing policy.
